Ryan Poirier is a distinguished figure in the graphic novel landscape, renowned as a multiple award-winning author, artist, character designer, and entrepreneur. He is the visionary behind accidentalcreations.ca and the creator of the award-winning graphic novel series "The Herd" and "Farm Freaks."

Ryan's journey into the arts began with a lifelong passion for drawing and storytelling. His academic pursuits led him to earn a degree in multimedia design, after which he embarked on a career in various television and media companies. Eventually, seeking a more stable path, Ryan shifted his professional focus to the IT field. However, his fervor for artistic creation never dimmed.

Continuing to nurture his passion, Ryan developed an array of stories, characters, and universes in his free time, which he collectively refers to as his "Accidental Creations." While he wrote several stories over the years, it was only recently that Ryan decided to take the significant step of publishing them.

In 2017, he established Accidental Creations as a self-publishing business and storefront for his books. From 2017 to 2021, Ryan published the first four volumes of "The Herd." Following this, he commenced work on "Farm Freaks," a 7-part graphic novel mini-series, with four books released since 2021 and more on the way.

Ryan's work has been met with critical acclaim and multiple accolades. "The Herd" won first place in the Winning Writers North Street Book Prize for the graphic novel category in 2021. In June 2022, it received the Readers' Choice Book Award for Best Children's Book for ages 8-12. Additionally, "The Herd" was a Finalist in the Canadian Book Club Awards and won first place in The Book Fest Awards in October 2022. By December 2022, "The Herd" had earned its 5th award - the 1st place Royal Dragonfly Book Award for Graphic Novel Ebook.
